14 Jan Lonely but not Alone
I’ve spent the last 6 years being “single”. Although it didn’t start out as an intentional plan to extend for 6 years, I knew that I needed to spend some time with myself, re-evaluate my decisions, my desires and most importantly seek the Lord for his “greater” plan for my life.
After a series of failed relationships, poor decisions and too many feelings of inadequacy; I became desperate. Desperate for God’s will instead of my own, desperate for his wisdom instead of leaning on my own understanding, desperate for his guidance instead of my stubbornness to do things my way, desperate for his purpose instead of my empty pursuits. And that’s exactly what these last 6 years have provided. Six years of discovery, revelation and most of all a closeness and intimacy with God that I’ve never felt before. I now realise that even though being “single” may have brought temporary feelings of “loneliness” I was never “alone”.
Every step of the journey he’s been with me, teaching me, loving me, purging me, instructing me, guiding me, helping me and preparing me for all that he has called me to be. The birth of “Morning Glory Arts” brought that revelation.
Isaiah 41:10 says ” So do not fear, for I am with you: do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.
Today I pray that you remember that you’re never alone, God is with you. Seek him, call upon him and he will answer you. He will be with you in trouble and in your temporary season of loneliness; for he promised that he will never leave you nor forsake you.
May you be strengthened and inspired as you walk boldly in faith. Go with God and let your light shine.
